Emergency Communications class

Attended the HPT Emergency Communications class today, at the Red Cross building in Hampton, VA. Although I live out of the HPT jurisdiction, the group always keeps their activities (and classes) interesting. I even acquired my General Class license after taking KC4F’s class a few years ago.

Was especially interested in the packet radio portion of today’s class. We all learned a bit more than expected as one of the three rigs refused to communicate properly for the first hour or so (we fixed it when we got to the point where we were checking connections on the back of the equipment).

Thanks goes to KC4F and KI4JZW for hosting today, and good luck tomorrow!
